Make a Digital Signature PNG

Create a transparent PNG of your signature to place on documents, PDFs, and images. This is a picture of your signature, which is what most people mean by the phrase.

Private by design. Your signature is processed on your device and never uploaded.

How to make a digital signature PNG

  1. 01

    Pick how to create it

Upload a photo of a signature on paper, draw one on screen, or type your name in a handwriting font. The tool above has a tab for each.

  2. 02

    Make the background transparent

Uploaded photos are cleaned automatically. Drawn and typed signatures are already transparent.

  3. 03

    Download the PNG

The PNG keeps its transparency, so it sits on the page without a white box.

  4. 04

Use it where you need it

Sign a PDF or image with it here, or insert it as a picture in a document editor or email signature.

Where a signature PNG is useful

PDFs

Place it on a PDF with the PDF signer. The signature goes on top of the page, so the original text and fonts are unchanged.

Images and scans

Sign a photo of a form or a screenshot and keep the file in its original format.

Word processors and slides

Most editors can insert a picture. Because the PNG is transparent, it shows the page behind it. Send the final file as a PDF if you do not want it edited.

Email signatures

Many mail apps let you add an image to your signature block. Use a small PNG so it loads quickly.

Why PNG and not JPG

Transparency

JPG cannot be transparent, so a JPG signature always carries a white or coloured rectangle. PNG does not.

Sharp edges

JPG compression smudges thin lines. A PNG keeps pen strokes crisp, even when you scale them down.

Frequently asked questions

What is a digital signature PNG?

It is an image of your signature saved as a PNG with a transparent background. You place it on a document to show where and how you sign.

Is a PNG signature legally binding?

It depends on the document, where you are, and who receives it. A signature image is a simple electronic signature. It does not prove identity by itself. This is not legal advice: for contracts that matter, ask the other party or a qualified professional what is required.

Is this the same as a certificate-based digital signature?

No. A certificate-based digital signature is cryptographic and tied to an identity. PureSign creates and places the image of your signature. It does not issue certificates or verify who you are.

Can I make one without creating an account?

Yes. The tool works as a guest. An account is only needed to save signatures to a vault.

Is the file uploaded?

No. Photos, drawings, and the finished PNG stay in your browser unless you choose to save the signature to your vault.
